Join us on Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Battle-Friedman House & Gardens for our Battle-Friedman volunteer workday. It's a chance to have fun, meet new people, and positively impact our community.

We invite helpful community members who care about our local historic sites to attend our annual Workday. Your participation will make a significant difference in keeping the Battle-Friedman property beautiful and accessible for everyone.

Volunteers who RSVP will receive a free Historic Tuscaloosa T-shirt upon arrival. Please include your T-shirt size and name.

Historic Tuscaloosa operates and maintains five historic properties in Tuscaloosa. Our Workday aims to keep our historical sites clean, open, and accessible for the enjoyment of all.

In the past, our other sites have used Workday for activities such as landscaping, clearing brush, trash removal, erecting or repairing fences, moving, setting up or taking down artillery, installing markers and interpretative signs, tree planting, building and clearing trails, and painting.

Workday is not just about volunteering; it's also an opportunity to learn about our local history and meet like-minded individuals. It has the potential to be an advantageous and productive source of volunteer labor for the maintenance and upkeep of our landmarks and an opportunity to promote its unique history.

Historic Tuscaloosa is lucky to have many friends and volunteers to help with projects. We would welcome the participation of any other civic groups.

Volunteers can arrive anytime between 10 AM and 1 PM.
