2021 Tuscaloosa Cameo Guild Heritage 5K and Fun Run/Walk

The Cameo Guild will be hosting their annual Heritage 5K and Fun Run/Walk on October 24, 2021. The course will wind through the Historic District of downtown Tuscaloosa, beginning at the Jemison Mansion parking lot. Race registration and awards will be conducted at the parking lot of the Jemison Mansion, 1305 Greensboro Ave.

The race starts at 2pm with door prizes and awards immediately following! Prizes will be awarded for overall as well as medals in each age category. This is a Tuscaloosa Track Club Grand Prix Event. Race sponsored by the Tuscaloosa Track Club and the Road Runners Club of America.

Our goals with this event are to raise money for the Tuscaloosa Cameo Guild Scholarship Program, raise funds for our gift to one of the Tuscaloosa County Preservation Society restoration projects, and to provide a fun, safe and historical setting for a 5K run.

RACE ROUTE Starting point is near the intersection of 14th Street and 23rd Avenue (just down from the Jemison Mansion Parking lot). The route will proceed west toward Greensboro Avenue and turn right onto Greensboro. It will then turn right on 6th Street, cross over and turn left on 21st Avenue and travel across University Blvd. and Jack Warner Pkwy to the Tuscaloosa Riverwalk trail. It will turn left onto the Riverwalk and follow it to the Bama Belle parking lot then turn left onto Greensboro Avenue and follow it to Jack Warner Pkwy. It will cross and follow Jack Warner Pkwy east in outside lane to turn right on 21st Avenue and continue on 21st Avenue until turning right onto 14th Street and finishing at the Jemison Mansion Parking lot.

AWARDS Cash awards for 1st ($75), 2nd ($50), 3rd ($25) Overall Male and Female Medals for Masters, Grand Masters, Great Grand Masters, and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in age categories (under age 9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 & over)

RULES • All participants must be registered and have a signed waiver • Bib numbers must be pinned in front and clearly visible • Children in baby strollers are not eligible for awards • No pets, bikes, headphones, radios, skates, skateboards, nonregulation running strollers (in the 5K), or pacer

Tuscaloosa Cameo Guild (formerly Tuscaloosa Belles) is a service organization of young women sponsored by the Century Club of the Tuscaloosa County Preservation Society. Cameo Guild members participate in preservation through education, involvement in community service events, and training of its members to provide leadership for the future preservation of the heritage of their community.
