Sundown Lecture Series, Thursday, May 14th, 5:15 - 6:45 at the Jemison-Van de Graaff Mansion.  Ms. Hallie O'Kelley will present "35 Years of Quilting."  Light refreshments at 5:15 with the lecture beginning at 5:45.  Society Members FREE; Non-Members $5

 

Heritage Celebration Home and Garden Tours Block Party, Saturday, May 16th.  4:00 - 8:00 pm College Park Neighborhood (corner of 6th Street and Queen City Avenue.)  This is a fun twist on the traditional home and garden tour.  Enjoy live music by local talent Lamont Landers, delicious food, balloons and souvenirs, fun, and friends!  Former location of the Tuscaloosa Female College. Tickets: Adults $25; Ages 6 - 18 $10; 5 Years and Under Free.  Tickets will be available at the event.  Call 758-2238 or email preservetuscinfo@att.net with questions.

We are pleased to announce the 2015 Hertiage Celebration!  This year, we are focusing on Reconstruction Tuscaloosa (1865 - 1877.)  We are also reformatting the event to be a year-long celebration.  Additional information on the events below will be forthcoming.  Mark your calendars and make your plans to join us as we celebrate the rich history of Tuscaloosa!

Sundown Lecture Series, Thursday, April 9th 5:00 - 7:00, Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center.  Dr. Robert Mellown will present "The Burning of the University."  Society Members FREE; $5 Non-Members.  Donations are gratefully accepted and apprecaited.

Sundown Lecture Series, Thursday, November 12th 5:00 - 7:00, Stillman College.  Dr. Guy Hubbs of Birmingham-Southern College will present "Reconstruction Tuscaloosa" based on his recent publication.
