Christmas Open House ~ Sunday, December 1st, 2:00 - 5:00 pm. Kick-off the holiday season with historic Tuscaloosa. Tour the Battle-Friedman House (1835), the Old Tavern (1827), the Murphy African American Museum (1923), the Jemison-Van de Graaff Mansion (1859), and the McGuire-Strickland House (1820). Each house will be decorated for Christmas with entertainment and refreshments. FREE admission.
Heritage Celebration: A Capital Capitol Idea, Tuscaloosa 1826 - 1846 - April 3 - 6, 2014. Celebrate Tuscaloosa during the Capitol Period. Meet with past governor's of Alabama and their wives, tour historic homes, enjoy a family day at Capitol Park (the site of the original Capitol Building) with period games and carriage rides, and learn about antebellum gardens at the annual Garden Show.
